May 16th, 2008 omilana Posted in Acne Control, acbe treatment, acen treatment, acme treatment, acne cream, acne face wash, acne medicine, acnetreatmenttips, ance treatment, ane treatment, best acne treatments, cane treatment, clinique acne solutions, treatments for acne Comments Off

If you’ve spent any time learning about teenage acne products, then you likely already know how many of them are out there. Each product makes claims to be the end-all of cures, and yet, only some of them seem to help even to a small degree. When you further research acne itself, it isn’t just products that vary; there are also many different ideas about the causes and effects of this common teen affliction.

The simple truth of it is that, without a clear understanding of what acne is and what causes it, it can be difficult to find an effective teenage acne treatment. Worse than that, without an effective method of reducing acne, the psychological effects can be quite devastating; the emotional and social impact that a bad case of acne in your teen years can leave you with a complex that follows you far into your adult life.

To begin to understand the problem let’s look at what acne is, what causes it, and then we will move on to some simple ways that you can reduce acne in your teen years.

What is Acne?

Acne is a skin condition that is caused by over-production of oil in the skin by the skins oil glands. Plugged pores, blackheads, whiteheads, pimples, and even cysts can be the result of when the oil from these glands gets trapped in oil-ducts beneath the skin. Cases of acne can range from mild, where only a few pimples or blackheads form on the face, to much more severe cases, in which sores cover the entire face, neck, back and shoulders.

Although most prevalent in teens acne can affect anyone. The problem usually starts in the teen years when a child reaches puberty (commonly between 10 and 13), and it commonly last for five to ten years. Teenage acne normally goes away during the early twenties, but not always. Even as an adult you can suffer from this condition.

When it comes to information about acne, there are many conflicting resources, and ideas. To really get a start in preventing teenage acne, a basic knowledge of its real causes is required.

What are the causes of Teenage Acne?

The causes of acne are sometimes argued, but research into the subject gives us an understanding. Let’s first talk about what doesn’t cause acne. This will help to get rid of some common myths surrounding acne.

Diet does not cause acne: Eating greasy foods, potato chips, or chocolate bars will not give you acne. Some studies link diet to aggravating acne, but what you eat will not cause it in the first place.

A healthy sex drive does not cause can: Another common misconception is that sex causes acne. This simply isn’t true. Birth control pills may trigger, or aggravate acne in women, but even then it’s not the root cause of the issue.

Exercising will not cause acne: You’ve likely heard it said that if you sweat, you might get zits. Again this isn’t true. Exercising will not make your face start to pop out all over, and it is an important part of your overall health that you do exercise.

Dirt does not cause acne: A dusty or dirty face will not cause acne. Although keeping clean is important, washing your face every 10 minutes will not prevent or even help with your acne. Washing too much may even cause further skin irritation. Poor hygiene may aggravate your acne, but again it is not the root cause.

The real cause of teenage acne is in the oil glands in your skin, in your hormones. In your teenage years hormones such as, testosterone and other androgenic hormones kick into high gear. This usually happens around the same time that a child hits puberty. These hormones trigger the oil glands (the sebaceous gland) in your skin to produce more of a substance known as sebum.

When functioning properly, sebum’s job is to transport dead skin cells and bacteria to the surface of the skin. With the increase in production, however, your body produces too much sebum and it clogs your pores. These clogged pores then lead to blackheads, whiteheads, pimples, and even cysts that can get infected below the skin.

With an understanding of how acne starts, it’s time look at how to reduce teenage acne.

The Simple Way to Reduce Teenage Acne

The simple fact is that you can’t control your body’s hormones. You can, however, control the health of your skin. By ensuring that you keep your skin healthy, you increase the chance of everything functioning properly, thus reducing the chances that you will suffer from acne.Studies have shown that the best way to treat teenage acne is to keep your skin healthy. The right treatment along with avoiding the things that aggravate acne is the best cure. There are skin care products intended for acne prevention and reduction, such as our own teenage acne treatment, that can effectively reduce the severity and duration of breakout. These types of treatments are all-natural and aren’t harsh on your skin.

Now that you know a little more about acne, you will be better able to control it; and you will be able to choose products that actually work in your pursuit of clear skin.

The Best Acne Treatment Products - How Do They Work?

May 14th, 2008 omilana Posted in acbe treatment, ache treatment, acne prevention, acne removal, ane treatment, clinique acne solutions, skin acne, treatment for acne Comments Off

Do you want to get rid of acne? Well, you’ll be glad to hear that there are a few treatments available that are effective in reducing, or even totally getting rid of acne.

How do these acne products work? Knowing how these treatments work will help you to find a treatment that you know will give you results. There are 3 ways in which these treatments or creams work to get rid of pimples and acne.

Let’s have a look at how these effective treatments work right now:

1. Reducing sebum

Sebum is a type of oily ingredient that our bodies naturally produce. When there are large amounts of it being made though it can create problems with acne. There are times in your when they may produce more of it than before. They include during puberty, due to your diet, medical problems, and genetic factors. Some people just produce more sebum than others.

Regardless of the reason why the body is producing excessive amounts of sebum, it’s important to control it. This is a crucial step as sebum will result in bacteria forming and your pores clogging. If you can reduce the sebum production you will reduce your acne.

2. Reduce acne bacteria

Excess sebum in your body can cause the bacteria in your skin to multiply. They become trapped in the layers of skin due to the pores being clogged as a result of the excess sebum. As a result, these factors will trigger outbreaks. This is why you may notice that you get areas on your face where the outbreaks are in bundles. The severity of the outbreak will depend on how much bacteria you have trapped in your skin.

There are certain bacteria that are suspected to contribute to acne. On their own, they don’t cause pimples, but in the presence of blocked pores and excess sebum, they will worsen outbreaks and make the outbreak worse that it needs to be. If severe, they can cause more damage and scarring.

3. Clearing clogged pores

Clogged pores are a problem because it makes the other 2 factors that cause acne even worse. The sebum that is made by your skin gets trapped, and so does the bacteria. As a result of the sebum getting trapped, even more bacteria is able to form as a result of it, which creates even more acne.

Acne products work by unblocking clogged pores, including reducing the thickness and amount of sebum, getting rid of dead skin cells on the surface, and stimulating the skin to exfoliate evenly so that the skin cells no longer block your pores. When this happens, pimples are reduced by a large extent, and can be eliminated altogether.

So there you go.

You now know how the acne treatment creams that work, produce their results to clear up your skin. When using an effective product, keep track of your results on your skin and look for a major improvement in your skin. These products that work should give you a noticeable improvement. If not, it may be time to try another treatment that may give you much better results than the first. So do some research, and use the products that give you results to get rid of acne for good.

The Low GI Diet - Does This Diet Treatment For Acne Work?

May 14th, 2008 omilana Posted in Adult Acne, acne face wash, acne medication, acne medications, acne medicine, acne prevention, ance cures, ance remedies, ance treatment, ane treatment, laser treatment for acne, scne treatment, severe acne, skin acne, teen acne, teenage acne Comments Off

The low GI diet proves what the experts have disagreed on for years. Some say that chocolate or soda irritates your acne while others believe the food you eat has absolutely no effect on the quality of the skin. A study published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition states the secret to clear skin is a low glycemic diet.

The study performed by Professor Neil Mann of the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology focused on fifty males with ages ranging from 15-25. One group was instructed to continue with their normal western diet. The control group was given a low GI diet to follow for twelve weeks.

The test group on the low GI diet had an improvement in their acne of more than 50 percent. The professor believes that processed food increases the levels of insulin and glucose in your body. When these levels increase, the hormone testosterone escalates and so does the amount of oil (sebum) on your skin.

Other experts argue against the idea of the low GI diet being a major contributing factor for acne. Many believe that heredity, hormones, and stress are far more influential on the flare up of acne breakouts. Many acne sufferers do feel, however, that their acne improves when they avoid certain foods. Ironically, the low GI diet is still recommended by dermatologists to improve your overall health and admit that the diet provides the foundation for other successful acne treatments.

The research indicates that processed foods with a high concentration of sugar and carbohydrates are a definite no-no. Many breakfast cereals available on the market today are thought to be one of the biggest sources of acne irritation. Other high sugar foods on the “evil” list include pop, candy, and snack foods. The research also recommends staying away from food items high in fat such as fast food items, fried items, and milk products.

The low GI diet uses a diet plan consisting of foods that are natural and do not contain any added colors, flavors, preservatives, and additives. Whole grain products such as bread, pastas, rice, and cereals are a main staple in the diet. Fruits and vegetables also make up a large part of the low GI diet. To maximize the diet’s acne treatment properties, vegetables and fruit green, yellow, and orange in color are important.

These vegetables provide your body with large amounts of vitamin A, beta-carotene, and vitamin C that have been proven to improve acne. Meat in the diet acne treatment should be lean and low in fat. This includes items such as fish, chicken, and turkey, but it does allow for some red meat as long as it is lean. Dairy products you consume on this diet should be fat free.

So there you have it.

Just because the experts cannot seem to agree on the idea, it does not mean that the idea of diet as a successful acne treatment should not be ignored. It will leave you feeling healthier and more energetic even if it does not have a significant impact on your acne. Although it may take some time to adapt, the diet is simple and easy to follow with no risks to your health.

Want the acne treatment creams and products that gives results? Then see Matt Anderson’s site where you’ll find the acne creams that work, as well as the latest acne diet tips proven to reduce acne. Go ahead and get clear skin.

How To Conceal Acne

There are numerous safe and effective treatments for acne. Over the counter medications do a good job of treating mild forms. Prescription medications and advanced treatments can cure almost all acne within a few months. But in the meantime, and afterward, it can help to hide it as well as possible.

It does little good to tell people they should be less concerned about their appearance. That only adds unnecessary guilt to an already unpleasant situation. For a whole host of valid reasons individuals may be interested in optimizing their appearance. Superficial vanity or excessive concern with what others think is one thing. Wanting to look one’s best as a reflection of a healthy and confident inner self is quite another.

For women, the situation is both more difficult and easier. More difficult because they tend to be judged more, and more stringently, on their looks. Easier, because they have more tools to meet the challenge. Makeup is the most obvious one.

First and foremost, look for makeup labeled ‘non-comedogenic’. ‘Comedones’ is the general term for certain types of mild acne, including whiteheads and blackheads. Those types of makeup are specially formulated to minimize clogging pores, one of the major contributors to acne development.

Concealer is the first line of defense. The redness that often accompanies burst pimples or, in more severe cases, cysts can be well covered. Just daub it on and work it over with a disposable sponge. Avoid overdoing it. You don’t want to look like someone has troweled on brown cement when the concealer dries.

Using a good foundation can help blend tones together. Here again, try not to use too much. You want to avoid looking like your face has been painted with beige latex. But an even, covering foundation for masking blemishes can do a very good job. Blending it in well so that the overall color is even is key.

Foundation helps in another way. By providing a less reflective surface than skin, it softens shadows. That lessens the contrast produced by the bumps that often occur with acne. Think of good films or photographs, where the proper lighting minimizes skin blemishes. It makes the person look as if their skin is made of silk. Foundation can help achieve a similar effect.

A light powder to finish has all those benefits. It can even out color tones and reduce shadows, reducing contrast.

Men, outside the stage or studio, typically don’t wear makeup as women do. Yet, specially formulated acne covering compounds can also help them hide acne. Over the counter medications often incorporate makeup-like compounds in order to do just that. But makeup for men is also an option. It’s typically much more subtle, and sometimes the effects are therefore less concealing. But many men find the results helpful.

Any acne covering product should be removed before bed. A gentle wash with a mild cleanser, followed by treatment with appropriate medications, helps combat acne. And, elimination is the best cover of all.
